Project: 240X360 Video Camera

panocam_new.jpg

"...while retaining the advantages of a conventionally framed photographic window, high-resolution digital capture opens up the process of documentation to global information capture. Video imaging is currently held captive to older pictorial paradigms of visualisation dominated by the picture plane and the frame. Conventions of thinking inside the frame place limits on the immersive quality of the data available through digital capture and visual recording.
Second, high-resolution digital capture resolves information to a specification equivalent to conventional panoramic 35mm and 70mm film cameras, but with the advantage of immediate interactive access to the recorded data."

~Global information capture! At a price-tag under $300,000 (AUS)! I'm smitten with the terminology, the sales pitch, the grant's verbiage, I've no idea if the video from this camera is watchable without motion-sickness medication.
