"Island people are different from the rest of us."

---"Lost? ...it's the salt air."

"All around them they're reminded there are limits to private ownership. How much one man can own. They're more cooperative."

---"You do know that England still has a queen and inbred royalty?
The richest woman in the world?"

"You've never lived in small-town America? We grew up cursing the Company or the Gumn't not Her Majesty or the idiot laard. Oppression came from far away. Without a human face."

---"Damn Pinkertons?"

"I don't know, it's changed. It's different there now, since NAFTA & terrorism, everyone wants to be a Pinkerton."

---"Oppression always has a human face. It's always personal."
