Making Faces in the Brain

Some regions of the inferior temporal cortex (IT) respond with high selectivity to faces. Afraz et al. have shown a causal link between activity of these region and actual face perception measured behaviorally. Artificially activating the right neurons at the right time causes visual perception of a face.
