The solution contains with a unique DNA code and is virtually impossible to remove.
If stolen property is then recovered, officers will be able to see this code using a UV torch and can then identify the item’s true owner.
As well as visiting local residents to mark belongings, officers will place signs in some of the participating houses and will also be placing notices on the streets, to make it clear to any would-be burglar that local residents are protecting their belongings with liquid DNA.
